On March 21, representatives from the shipbuilding industry authorities of six provinces—Hubei, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Henan, and Hunan—and Chongqing Municipality gathered at Huagong Tech for a symposium on regional collaborative development of green and intelligent ships. The meeting laid out the preparatory work for the second Green and Intelligent Ship Regional Collaborative Development Conference to be held in October this year and discussed key topics such as a star-rating mechanism for inland shipbuilding enterprises. This marks a substantive step forward in establishing a collaborative development mechanism for the shipbuilding industry along the Yangtze River Basin.

Before the meeting, attendees visited Huagong Tech's pilot testing base. The base features six intelligent units, over 30 core smart factory technologies, and more than 50 proprietary algorithms. Once validated, these technologies have been implemented in market applications. The demonstration highlighted three core technologies for shipbuilding: Digital twin technology enables real-time monitoring of production lines through virtual-physical synchronization, dynamically alerts equipment failures, and optimizes process parameters; visual recognition and sorting technology improves sorting efficiency using image processing and AI; small assembly welding technology uses 3D visual scanning and intelligent programming, achieving a welding qualification rate of 98%.

At the meeting, Huagong Tech delivered a keynote titled "Digital Workshop Construction Plan for the Shipbuilding Industry," sharing a full-process digital workshop solution covering core links such as yard management, material cutting, and welding—targeting industry pain points in efficiency and cost. Attendees explored how to pool resources to jointly tackle technical challenges, accelerate R&D on battery-powered, methanol, LNG, and hydrogen-powered ships, and establish cross-regional collaboration mechanisms to promote technological breakthroughs and new ship model validations. Discussions also included forming a joint evaluation standard to cultivate benchmark green enterprises; establishing and promoting a regional carbon credit linkage system for mutual recognition of "carbon credits" along the Yangtze River; and organizing major events such as the second Green and Intelligent Ship Regional Collaboration Conference to promote innovation transformation and industrial development.

This meeting is an important practical step toward deepening regional collaboration, promoting green development in the shipbuilding industry, and accelerating its digital transformation and upgrade. Through technology sharing and policy linkage, the six provinces and one municipality aim to speed up the construction of a cross-regional collaboration system for intelligent ship manufacturing. Looking ahead, Huagong Tech will continue to deepen independent and chain-based innovation, accelerating the shipbuilding industry’s transition toward greener, smarter, and higher-end development.
