Company Profile
Gansu Borui Heavy Transportation Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was established in August 2017 as a joint venture between CRBBG (China Railway Baoji Bridge Group Co., Ltd.), Gansu Road and Bridge Construction Group, and Gansu Transportation Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd. With a registered capital of 300 million RMB, the company specializes in the design, production, sales, installation, renovation, maintenance, and repair of steel bridge products, as well as related technical consulting services.
CRBBG, founded in the 1960s, is a key subsidiary of China Railway Group Limited, a Fortune Global 500 company. It is a large state-owned enterprise that manufactures steel bridges, steel structures, railway turnouts, urban rail transit equipment, and large-scale lifting machinery. The company has a registered capital of 1.233 billion RMB and total assets of 6 billion RMB, with 11 subsidiary enterprises.
Gansu Road and Bridge Construction Group Co., Ltd., established in 1954, is the first enterprise in Gansu Province to hold a top-level general contracting qualification for highway engineering. It is a large state-owned highway construction company integrating investment and construction, with a registered capital of 1 billion RMB, total assets of 10.7 billion RMB, and an annual comprehensive production capacity exceeding 20 billion RMB.
Gansu Transportation Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd. was founded in 1952, originating from a survey team under the Gansu Provincial Department of Transportation. In 1978, it was officially established as “Gansu Transportation Planning and Design Institute,” and restructured into a limited liability company in December 2003. In July 2016, it became a joint-stock company. It has 11 branch offices and consulting centers, 12 production units, 8 research institutes, and 6 investment companies. It is the largest highway engineering survey and design institution in Gansu Province.
Project Background
In 2016, the Ministry of Transport issued the “Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Construction of Highway Steel Bridges” (JTGGL [2016] No. 115), and the Gansu Provincial Department of Transport followed up with the “Notice on Accelerating the Construction of Highway Steel Structure Bridges in Gansu Province” (GJT [2016] No. 132). In 2020, the Ministry issued a newly revised industry-recommended standard “Technical Specifications for Highway Bridge Construction” (JTG/T 3650-2020), which recommended the use of digital, automated, and information-based advanced technologies, processes, and equipment in steel structure manufacturing to ensure efficiency, precision, and quality.
Construction Content
Huagong Cyber undertook the construction of Gansu Borui’s intelligent manufacturing information management platform for a composite box girder project. The platform includes six core systems: ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), MES (Manufacturing Execution System), LES (Logistics Execution System), Safety Management System, and Digital Twin, as well as supporting infrastructure such as workshop networks, video monitoring, and a central control room — achieving digital and intelligent management.
The construction content includes:
1) Production Operation Decision-Making System (ERP)
Centered around project management, this system integrates target cost control, material supply, and production management, with financial, HR, and asset modules as the backbone — forming a comprehensive business decision-making platform for Gansu Borui. Functional areas include marketing, project management, supply chain, warehouse, production, quality, asset, HR, enterprise portal, budgeting, risk control, decision support, and system integration.
2) Full-Model Digital Project Management System (PLM)
Provides centralized and effective management of electronic product documents and secure sharing of technical data. By integrating CAD, CAPP, BIM, ERP, MES, etc., it delivers accurate and effective foundational data for all systems, enabling collaborative enterprise product data management.
3) Integrated Smart Manufacturing System (MES)
Functions include workshop-level production scheduling, material tracking, process and progress control, production data collection and analysis, equipment maintenance, and product quality management. It enables end-to-end digital management from planning to warehousing, promoting lean, transparent, and traceable manufacturing.
4) Engineering Material Optimization and Control System (LES)
The LES system covers cutting plan management, steel plate stacking, nesting, machining, logistics, reporting, operation boards, and mobile applications. Integrated with other systems, it enables coordination across departments like planning, nesting, warehousing, workshops, and finance.
5) Safety Management Information System
This system includes modules for basic data, hazard management, on-site management, emergency planning, safety training, and knowledge management. It helps monitor safety and fire conditions, summarize and analyze major hazards, and develop timely prevention and corrective plans, ensuring safety of personnel and assets.
8) Digital Twin System
Creates a digital model of the manufacturing process, enabling interaction between physical and virtual spaces. It mirrors the actual production process and uses twin data to optimize production.
6) Central Control Room
The control room features large display screens, server clusters, and network switches. It serves as a visualization hub for all information systems.
7) Workshop Network and Video Monitoring
The network connects workshop equipment with the central control and information systems, ensuring stable, secure, fast, and complete data transmission. Integrated with 5G, it supports production, data collection, control room operations, and surveillance.
The workshop video monitoring system provides real-time visibility of the production process, ensuring standardization and enabling continuous process optimization.
Value and Benefits
By integrating procurement, marketing, production, logistics, installation, and safety into a unified steel bridge intelligent manufacturing platform, the system enables seamless data exchange and information sharing across processes. It supports unified management and collaborative manufacturing among the company, clients, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
