Company Profile

Broad Group Co., Ltd. is a Chinese private enterprise founded in 1988 with a starting capital of 30,000 RMB. Since its establishment, it has developed over a hundred high-tech products without ever imitating industry peers. Broad Group's mission is "For the future of humanity: to protect the Earth with original, energy-saving and durable technologies, and to protect human life with original, clean, and safe technologies." Its headquarters is located in Changsha, with products distributed in over 80 countries.

Broad Sustainable Building Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Broad Group, was established in 2009. It offers the world a series of “ultra-strong and ultra-light” stainless steel core panels, fundamentally transforming the construction, transportation, and industrial sectors with the mission of “building eternal civilization.” Its subsidiaries include:

1) Broad Living Building Co., producing factory-made stainless steel structure buildings called “Living Buildings,” with the mission to “enable people to live in truly good homes.”

2) Broad Core Panel Bridge & Road Co., developing core panel elevated highways, bridges, and three-dimensional factories, with the mission “to prevent highways from dividing nature.”

3) Broad Lightweight Transportation Co., developing stainless steel core panels for vehicle bodies, aircraft shells, and ship hulls, aiming to “make transportation lighter and safer.”

4) Broad Vacuum Train Co., developing ultra-fast vacuum tunnels and vehicle bodies using stainless steel core panels, with the mission to “realize the dream of a time tunnel for long-distance transportation.”

5) Broad Stainless Steel Wind Power Co., developing 100kW micro-wind power generation systems with stainless steel core panels, aiming to “bring wind power to every corner of the Earth.”

6) Broad Core Panel Co., manufacturing stainless steel core panels for Broad Sustainable Building and partners, with the mission to “create the world’s safest, highest-quality, and most efficient factory.”

Project Background

In recent years, the Chinese government has strongly promoted prefabricated buildings, sparking a nationwide wave of prefabricated construction. In March 2021, the “14th Five-Year Plan and 2035 Long-Term Goals Outline for National Economic and Social Development” proposed to “develop intelligent construction, promote green building materials, prefabricated buildings, and steel-structured housing, and build low-carbon cities.” In October the same year, the State Council issued the “Action Plan for Carbon Peak before 2030,” emphasizing “the promotion of green low-carbon building materials and green construction methods, accelerating new industrialized construction, vigorously developing prefabricated buildings, promoting steel-structured housing, encouraging material recycling, and strengthening green design and green construction management.” In January 2022, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued the “14th Five-Year Plan for Construction Industry Development,” proposing “significant improvements in industrialization, digitalization, and intelligent levels of construction.”

Against this backdrop, Broad Sustainable Building, a leader in prefabricated buildings, experienced a surge in orders. Reliance on manual labor led to severe capacity shortages, urgently requiring the establishment of automated and intelligent production lines. The Huagong Technology intelligent manufacturing team undertook projects for three automated production lines for floors, end frames, and window glass.

Construction Content

Automated Floor Production Line

  • The production line includes 2 active panel lines and 2 fixed panel lines, with non-mixed production;

  • The total area covers approximately 8,500 m²;

  • Material handling mainly uses intelligent cranes and roller conveyors; manual assistance is provided for small part welding and large part positioning; robots perform laser cutting and continuous full welding; equipped with automatic nailing and glue spraying devices;

  • Floor panel repositioning accuracy ±1mm, precision tooling repositioning accuracy ±1mm;

  • The line runs two shifts daily totaling 16 hours, with a single line daily production capacity of 90 active panels and 90 fixed panels.

Benefits & Value

  • Production operates via a combination of automated and manual workstations on the assembly line, fulfilling full-line automation and labor reduction;

  • Laser flat cutting, laser heavy pipe cutting, laser automatic welding, robot integration, and information traceability technologies are integrated into prefabricated building production, providing a paradigm for intelligent prefabricated construction;

  • After line commissioning, personnel reduced from 112 to 70, daily single-line production capacity increased from 8 to 90 units, labor reduced by nearly half, and daily production capacity increased tenfold.
