In recent years, alongside advancements in the steel industry and metallurgical technologies, the refractory materials sector has undergone significant transformation. It has shifted from traditional large-scale production based on natural raw materials to the development of high-end products featuring synthetic materials, diversified varieties, and small-batch production. This evolution marks a new trend in the development of China’s refractory materials industry.

Intelligent transformation and upgrading have become key aspects of this industrial reform. The Fourth Industrial Revolution—characterized by technologies such as smart production lines, intelligent logistics, digital twins, big data, and cloud computing—is rapidly unfolding. National policies are also providing strong institutional support for the development of intelligent manufacturing. As a critical supporting industry for high-temperature sectors like steel and cement, the refractory materials industry must respond to the national call and embrace this trend. Emphasis should be placed on forming integrated system solutions that cover raw material preparation, press control, kiln optimization, online monitoring, and fully automated warehousing.
