According to CCTV News, Li Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, conducted an inspection tour in Hubei Province from January 2 to 3. He emphasized the importance of thoroughly implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions on promoting high-quality development along the Yangtze River Economic Belt, fully carrying out the Central Economic Work Conference agenda, maintaining a sense of urgency and a proactive attitude, focusing on practical implementation from the start, accelerating the development of new quality productive forces, making new strides in high-quality development, and ensuring a solid start to the year’s economic work.
In Yichang, Premier Li first visited the Gezhouba Water Conservancy Project, where he was briefed on the protection of the Yangtze River, plans for the new Three Gorges navigation channel, and the Jinghan Canal project. He emphasized the need to respect scientific principles, accelerate project planning and validation, and maximize the comprehensive benefits of the Yangtze River in terms of navigation, water conservancy, ecology, and cultural tourism. Li then visited Xingfa Group to learn about its transformation and upgrading efforts and inspected the rectification of wastewater outlets and shoreline restoration along the Yangtze River. He encouraged the company to continue advancing technological innovation and follow a path of ecological priority and green development. At the Bangpu Integrated Industrial Park for full-chain battery recycling, he fully affirmed the company's focus on waste battery recycling and circular economy development, encouraging them to target high-value segments of the industrial and value chains and take the initiative in green, low-carbon economic growth.
In Wuhan, Premier Li visited the production lines of Yangtze Memory Technologies and HG Laser, a subsidiary of Huagong Tech, to gain insight into the development of the flash memory and laser industries. He praised the achievements in enterprise innovation and emphasized the need to further leverage the role of enterprises as the main drivers of technological innovation, improve mechanisms for collaborative innovation between industry, academia, and research institutions, implement more targeted support policies, and accelerate the transformation of scientific research outcomes into productive forces. At the National Key Laboratory of Surveying and Remote Sensing Information Engineering at Wuhan University, Li listened to reports on major project R&D and achievements in commercialization. He fully acknowledged their progress and encouraged greater efforts in multi-scenario applications, the integration of innovative resources, and breakthroughs in core technologies to contribute more to China's goal of becoming self-reliant and strong in science and technology.
In Ezhou, Premier Li visited Huahu Airport, where he was briefed on its construction and development and toured the SF Express parcel sorting line. He noted that the airport, as an international air cargo hub, enjoys significant geographical advantages and a solid foundation. He called for further improvements in construction and operations, enhancing its regional impact, and better supporting the formation of a new development pattern.
Premier Li fully affirmed the achievements of Hubei's economic and social development. He stressed that the Central Economic Work Conference had outlined a comprehensive development strategy for this year and expressed hope that Hubei would thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important directives on the province, maintain a pioneering spirit, work diligently, and contribute to national development with new accomplishments in high-quality growth.
