Recently, Huagong Tech Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Huagong Tech") signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shandong Xinneng Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xinneng Shipbuilding") to jointly build a smart shipyard for a new energy ship manufacturing base.
Xinneng Shipbuilding is a modern shipbuilding enterprise specialized in the construction and repair of LNG-powered and electric new energy vessels. It is committed to creating China's first green, intelligent, modern, and standardized new energy ship manufacturing base integrating R&D, design, and smart production. Upon completion, the project will have the capacity to build 400 and repair 100 new energy vessels annually, driving the development of related coastal industries such as lithium and hydrogen-powered systems and electric propulsion, forming an industrial cluster for inland green intelligent ships with an output value exceeding tens of billions of yuan.
The "New Energy Ship Manufacturing Base Full-Process Smart Factory" project undertaken by Huagong Tech is a turnkey joint workshop solution covering processes such as yard sorting, steel plate pretreatment, plate cutting, small component welding, and deck welding. During the design and implementation phase, Huagong Tech has integrated independently developed high-end laser cutting equipment, laser hybrid welding systems, large-format multi-head marking and coding devices, along with cutting-edge digital technologies including intelligent line generation and recognition, hybrid nesting optimization, high-precision weak feature recognition, AI+vision-based sorting system, yard management system, smart central control system, and a digital twin platform—achieving full-process smart manufacturing from raw materials to hull assembly.
Smart Yard and Sorting Management System enables scheduling of crane operations through integrated interaction, and realizes interconnectivity of business processes, information, and data across yard and sorting areas, forming the "brain" of intelligent coordination for yard operations.
Smart Central Control System is an integrated platform for equipment scheduling and control. It enables direct communication between production plans and equipment, automating the entire process from plate warehousing, cutting, sorting, transportation, to storage. The system uses scheduling algorithms to optimize part production paths and resource allocation, minimizing waste during production.
Digital Twin System builds high-fidelity models and real-time rendering of equipment and production layouts, enabling synchronization of digital and physical operations via IoT data. It dynamically reconstructs production resources across lines and workshops, creating a truly intelligent digital twin factory.
With the shipbuilding industry moving toward intelligent transformation, many domestic shipyards are transitioning from automation to smart manufacturing. The "Weihai Base Cutting and Blanking Workshop Automation Line" jointly built by Huagong Tech and Wuhu Shipyard has officially been put into operation. This workshop features high human-machine collaboration, reducing labor costs by approximately 40%, and achieves up to 80% automation. Its smart central control system autonomously allocates in-factory resources, combining advanced technologies, intelligent management, and physical safety measures—setting a benchmark as a "super factory" in the shipbuilding sector. The Weihai base focuses on high-value vessels such as 3,000–9,000 car PCTCs and 50K MR tankers, with a planned capacity of 800,000 DWT and annual output of RMB 5 billion.
From launching smart shipbuilding production lines to signing full-process smart factory projects, Huagong Tech is leveraging laser equipment and full-chain digital management as the core to offer customized solutions based on the individual needs of shipbuilders. The company continues to accelerate the intelligent manufacturing of ship hull components and the integration of high-end, green, intelligent shipbuilding technologies—injecting new momentum into the advanced shipbuilding market.
